Jimmy Monaco's Love Burgers
| Found in the parade of restaurants surrounding the 02 arena, Jimmy Monaco's has to host one of the best bargains in the 02 at £7.95 for a large Aberdeen Angus burger with a choice of toppings (one each of cheese, "extras" and sauces). There are the normal extras to be found as well such as fries, onion rings and shakes but litle else to the menu. You go here for the burgers. So what are they like? Very good indeed. We had Matured Cheddar and Garlin Mayonnaise on ours with the whole thing tasting very nice indeed -- You could actually taste the flavour of the beef. We both agreed that the burger was amongst the best we have ever had. The accompanying items were not so good with the onion rings lacking and flavour the fries being quite boring (sort of like McDonald's fries but without the crispiness). The shakes were not bad if a bit sweet. The interior is quite character filed with a wooden floor and a rather attractive spray-painted set of walls. Service was excellent when we arrived but as we got closer to the night's events in the dome and the place filled up we had less and less luck having to wait about 10 minutes before anyone would bring us our bill. Don't expect anything more than very good burgers and an excellent price here. | |
