Review of 'Chrysalis'

chrysalis.jpg A surgeon and her daughter are involved in a horrific car accident that leaves the daughter, seemingly, killed (as is the nature with such films it is difficult to be sure). A police officer David Hoffmann loses his wife and partner in a heated gun battle at the beginning of this movie. Hoffman singlemindedly seeks to find the killer and comes across a company that is able to manipulate human memories.

This film is actually quite light on plot but heavy on set fight scenes which is not surprising considering that the stunt coordinator is Alain Figlarz (from The Bourne Identity). I did find the endless shots of characters kicking each other a bit much…The (few) effects are not bad with the “science” in the “science fiction” a bit thin on the ground.

Generally, the film is OK but not fantastic.

Rating: “Average, but who wants to be average?”
