Review of 'Cafe Adriadic'

This small restaurant on Mill Road is quite a surprise. Visiting on a Tuesday evening we were the only people there at about 7:00 but the restaurant, thankfully, began to fill up. There is a reason for that: Very good, simple Italian cooking.

Reviewing the (refreshingly) short menu, I started with the “Antipasto of Parma ham, vine ripened tomato and buffalo mozzarella” which was wonderful with the Parma ham being of the highest quality (not salty at all) and the mozzarella extremely fresh and soft with a lovely mild taste. My main of “Oven roasted squid served with cavolo nero and potato” was very well prepared with the squid cooked to perfection and the cavolo nero and potato surprisingly tasty. My dessert was the “Vanilla and lemon pannacotta with raspberry coulis” which was very tasty as well.

Nicely sized portions and a good buzz to the place as people started to arrive later in the afternoon. The service was satisfactory if not fantastic. The prices are not the cheapest but reasonable for the quality displayed. Definitely worth a visit.
