Greenwich

Greenwich (pronounced GRENICH) is accessible via the Docklands Light Railway or by boat on the Thames. This area is a welcome relief from
the hustle of London but can have it's own fair share of traffic on a nice day...

Attractions

There are a few places to visit in Greenwich:

Introduction

[England - London]

[Westminster from the London Eye]

London is a very big place full of a variety of different cultures. Most times these cultures seem to be represented by tourists especially in central areas of London such as Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square (pronounced LESTER Square). I would suggest that you do visit these places but perhaps only in passing through to other areas. If you want to look at (cheap) souvenirs and the like be my guest.

Open House London 2016

Open House London is a yearly event that opens the doors of hundreds of properties throughout London many of which are not normally open to the public. The queues for popular properties can often be hours long and others are only available for pre-booked visits only. If you are interested in seeing particular properties or want to make the best use of your time I would advise you purchase the guide book that comes on sale a few months ahead of the event. The sheer sco…

I try to attend Open House London every year it is held which is generally a weekend late in September, this year it was on September 22nd and 23rd. Some years I am able to see more than others (see 2016), this year I was only able to attend on the Sunday so a bit more limited in what I could see this time.

There are many different areas to shop in within London. Note that many stores are not open on Sunday's and many are not open past 6:30 pm (except for the Leicester Square/Piccadilly Circus area where most is open well into the night).

There are many different groups that offer tours of London. I can recommend the following:

	* London Walks - If you do not mind walking, this group offers MANY different walks around London (and even outlying areas such as Oxford and Cambridge). Their walks cost £5 and you can get a 'Discount Walkabout Card' which allows you pay one cost for as many walks as you can take in a day (after the Jack the Ripper walk I can't see how you could go on more than two in a day).
