Review of '196 Meze Bar'

A tiny but very pleasant (if a bit clinical) meze restaurant (don't be fooled by the “bar” in the name) on the “wrong side of the tracks” as far as Mill Road is concerned (away from the city centre). 196 Meze Bar offers a very reasonable lunch menu (with most lunch meals priced at £6) though the main menu is quite varied with most meze items on the menu between £3 and £4 (though there are also “main” dishes that also looked very good and reasonably priced). The meze is fresh and very well prepared – Never mind very tasty. The service is excellent and relaxed with free meze offered every time you bat an eyelid – If you are in a group it is particularly important to come with a good appetite.

Dinner and weekends can get quite busy with only the half-dozen or so tables so be sure to either book or get there early.
