Review of 'Mai Thai Restaurant'

Located right on Parker's Piece in the former cricket pavilion Mai Thai is quite easy to find. The small austere interior is fairly cold and uninviting. The dinner menu is quite expensive but I visited for the lunch session which was 10 pounds for two courses (appetiser and main) but with a few quite good items on offer.

My Tom Yum Soup starter was refreshing and very tasty while my Green Curry was bowl-licking good – Fresh and wonderful. A disappointment was to find that even though the seafood options were listed on the 10 pound menu there was a note that if you chose them you would be charged and extra 2 pounds (for each) – Keep them off the menu or have a very clear note for each dish where seafood is an option that an extra charge applied. In my case my 10 pound meal cost me 14.

Service was very disappointing and quite off-hand. Likely in the evening with the far more expensive items on offer service would improve (or am I just being cynical?).
