Sidmouth
The rather busling seaside town of Sidmouth is located on the Devon coast east of Exeter and a short distance from Budleigh Salterton.
The town centre has a good assortment of shops and restaurants along several small, winding roads. Be sure to check out the “Sidmouth Market” in the middle of town with not only free public toilets (!) but also some small independent market stalls. The seaside has many small hotels/B&Bs and restaurants as well as a rocky beach.
To the east there are walking trails along the wonderful red cliffs.
Travel
Parking in town is a bit of a problem but behind a disused public toilet facility on the far east of the ocean front is a small, inexpensive pay & display car park (follow the signs for “Ham East Short Stay Car Park”).
